kaoru inoue has been a dj over the past 15 years and a producer, particularly under the name of chari chari. after mixing (for labels such as yellow or pussy foot), remixing (for the likes of femi kuti, arto lindsay, bebel gilberto) today he runs his own label, seeds and ground. shibuya jazz classics is a series of comps handled by various japanese and western djs to explore jazz recordings made in japan over the 60s up to the 80s, and to unveil their inspirations. here, kaoru inoue digs into the king record label's catalogue.
