Thank you for this share, vesper -- and for the McLean too. Steeplechase in the 80's became a little too generic for my tastes, but in the 70's there seemed to be more fire. At any rate, I really like these two albums. Always great to hear Makanda.
Please feel free to share any more! One I haven't heard good things about but still wanted to hear was "Ode to Super."
nice album! btw, who's the sixth guy? there's 6 guys on the photo, and somebody plays electric piano on the record!
Francisco,
Richie Harper is the pianist on the set. (I initially had the same question.)
Would love to hear McIntyre's other Steeplechase too!
Thank you Mr. Pharoah,
Stacy
thanks
I saw "Ode to Super" posted somewhere not that long ago. Bartz and J-Mac. Love that album.
Hi Vesper,
Thanks for this, which was a new discovery to me today.
I’ve referenced your page in my post of Nat Adderley Septet – “Don’t Look Back” (1976)
All the best,
Simon from Never Enough Rhodes
... and I know you've probably got the Adderley, but there're some more McIntyre links there as well that you might like:)
Nice! Thanks!
Ode to Super is here:
