Wow-this is a rare one. Thanks for the post.
Rarae indeed. I've never heard of Brackeen. His playing is very much Coleman style. Many thanks.
Many thanx! I have this on vinyl but it's great to have a digital copy!
wow!!!
HOLY MOLY!!!!! WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS!?!!!?! THIS IS BLOODY AWESOME!!!!
You are an absolute legend!! I salute you sir!!!!!!!
Thanks a thousend times for the great amount of beautiful music you post!!!!!!!
Chris......
I had this a lorrrrrrrrng time ago! It is spiffing (and of course very Ornettish). Thanks a million!
I believe he was the ex-husband of Joanne Brackeen, but I've never heard him play. Thanks for an interesting post.
I can't get the link to work...
Thank you Vesper
I've been keeping an eye out for this for 20 years or more.
I have his Silkhearts from the 80s, plus Paul Motian's Le Voyage on ECM, so there's a bit of Brackeen around if you look hard enough!
Mr W
Love Charles' music, thanks for this! I let it go by many years ago, & then, w/out ever realizing, it was no longer in the racks . . .
listened to it last night - what a stunning set, & like others have noted, very Ornettish still at this young age (tho w/ those bandmates, it would hard to compare to anything else)
thanks again!
Thank you! What a band!!!!!
the link is broken, i wanna listen!
Piro, the link is working
Charles Brackeen is right up there with Frank Wright as a powerful force on the tenor that has been unjustly overlooked. He's put some great stuff out there.
THE HOLY GRAIL! W.A.N.W (WE ARE NOT WORTHY!) 1000 thanks
Holy grail indeed! Thanks for this gem, another one that's been hard to come by. Ornettish sure -and thanks for that- but Brackeen was/is his own man. Not enough of him on wax.
Some of us can not get past the "lix" gateway, for reasons of cookies, security or firewall. Could you please post the actual rapidshare link? I don't think the album is in danger of being deleted.
Thanks
